The old Rovers were always great mowers...longlasting and easy to work on but no more 2 stroke thanks to our American friends...I guess their made in China and maybe assembled in OZ?

1. Rover 2. Victa 3. Honda Those are probably my favourite brands as well as masport.

We still have the exact same model as in the commercial and it still works but it’s hard to start and has a hard to pull starter cord. I think it might need a new spark plug.

I have the non propelled model....its very average at cutting grass and terrible for grass collection, it has a ridiculously small discharge chute, both into the catcher and for side discharge....both are easily blocked...and the low rise deck is just extremely ineffective at moving the cut grass....the seal between the mower and the catcher is ineffective, clouds of dust and particle straight into my face.......this mower will only pick uo 60% of the grass...if the grass is over say 2.5 ..3 inches tall. A very powerful and easy to start mower...but thats where the good points end!!!! Ive never regretted a lawn mower purchase as much in my life.....

The grass catcher to mower seal is useless, mine has always been hard to start, compared to my big bob with a similar sized honda motor...its terrible for catching grass...anything over 3 inches.....half of the chassis is plastic....powerful motor...terrible mower.....mine just stops and wont restart.....until its cool......all round bloody shitbox

Anyone interested in the Mini Rider Hydro should know that they lack power in " reverse cutting " . Mine struggles at full throttle to go back up my side lawn and it's only about 1.5 in 30 angle . Other than that for the more flat lawns it's been great and mows really neatly . Catcher works great when mowing dry grass and the two smaller bins are good design to use .

Thanks for posting for the posting five the years I have own a Rover Rancher 547/38 (that is realy a MTD lawn tractor with Rover name on it ) But it been grate. Even though I mow My quarter acre block ever two weeks I only mow it for only half an hour at a time. You know at mowing with it at a half hour ever two weeks that one hour total per month. So I would only mow 12 hours total per year. Over the last five years I have had it , I have done only 60 hours total over five years at 60 hours the engin would be barly run in LOL Yet over the last five years with with mowing sandy soils and running in to thick pachers of grass. I have gone though two deck belts and also two lots of blades. Just to let you know mowing grass on sandy soils,the sand will grinds away at your blades and hiting thick pacers of grass will jam up your deck belt. But even though over the last five years it only done 60 hours I finly decided to change the filter and oil LOL . I was told to make it last longer I would need to put grease niples in the shaffs .

Can you do a maintenance video on the Rover Rancher 547/42

My wife and I bought a Rover Rancher, 547/42. And now it’s time to change the oil at the first 5 hours. But we’re having a hard time removing the oil dipstick. Is there anything special I need to do I’m not in Thailand to help her with this issue. We tried every sort of turning, pushing pulling, and it won’t release from the oil filler tube. Can you help with a tutorial?

I have one of these mowers.....they are very powerfull...i push mow nearly 5 acres, of orchards and gardens....when we have rain, for exercise as well as lawn appearance. My one and only complaint is that the seal between the mower and the catcher is not effective at all...if it gets the tiniest bit dry...dusty, i get a stream of fine dust right in my face when pushing...ive taken to using a folded wet, small towel over the seal area ..which is somewhat effective...yet i can use our 20 year old victa....with zero dust problems....pretty dissapointing really 😢😢😢

I just bought one a Hydro yesterday day delivery next Tuesday . The only thing I am concerned about is the seat it's made for a child or a tiny little person not the average man . I will have to replace that seat with something far more suitable and be able to put the old seat back on for service or warranty . I had no other choice in the smallest mowers as the only competitor was the Stiga and it only had a 2 years warrant IF you service it every year with the seller which is 45 kilometers away . So Rover was the only choice . Lack of choice really sh*ts me . Rover needs to reassess their seat design it's atrocious for a larger man and I don't think many teenagers are buying ride on mowers . The Cub Cadet mower US which looks essentially the same has a far better seat .

I think Rover ride mower needs the dump bagger option. Not just baggers

Junk the plastic seat"springs" and replace with 3 inch motorcycle seat springs your back will thank you.

The myspeed is not functioning correctly. How is this adjusted? When pushing the drive lever forward, it does not provide enough force to drive the mower forward. However, if you push the lever forward with more force it takes off and have to run to keep up! All suggestions appreciated as the servicing dealer is a 2+ hour drive away.

I just bought the hydro. Happy with it so far. I just find that even on the lowest deck setting, it’s still cutting too high for my lawn. Can I “fine tune it”, to cut lower on setting 1?Thanks.
